Serious grappling discussion focused on technique, strategy, and skill development—no trolling, no nonsense, just high-level grappling. Modern Grappling is a community for grapplers who want serious discussion about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission grappling without the trolling, ego, and nonsense found on most forums. The focus here is simple: high-level thinking about grappling. Inside Modern Grappling, you’ll find technical discussions on positions, systems, match strategy, training methods, and film study from high-level competition. This isn’t a place for trolling, low-effort hot takes, or endless beginner questions that can be Googled. Modern Grappling is built for people who enjoy studying grappling as much as they enjoy training it. If you want thoughtful discussion, technical insights, and a community focused on improving the art, you’re in the right place. Modern Grappling was founded by Anthony Vanderpool, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt with five years of training experience, an 80% submission rate in competition, and multiple wins over notable black belts in the Kentucky grappling scene.
