Mad Scientists Unite! Find community amongst the atom smashers and X-ray tubes. Over 1000 high-level STEM projects. Find your minions! If you love doing amazing science and technology projects, you've found your community. Whether you're embarking on your first STEM adventure, or already executing your fiendish plot to take over the world, this is your place to learn, share, and to connect with people who share your passion for DOING. I'm Shawn Carlson. I built my first atom smasher at 14. I went on to earn a Ph.D. in nuclear physics, to win a MacArthur Fellowship, and to write "The Amateur Scientist" column for Scientific American magazine. I've founded a number of science education programs and I've taught the art of doing science for over 30 years. The Fellowship for Mad Scientists is my legacy project. I want this community to become the greatest resource for science doers ever. I want this to become the place where today's generation and future generations of serious science doers come to participate in the great adventure that is scientific discovery. I hope you'll join us!
